Overseer Studio

Overseer is a modular, offline-first Game Master workspace designed to unify core session tools - notes, audio, NPCs, dice, and trackers - into a single screen. Unlike VTTs, it focuses purely on the Game Master experience and avoids combat maps or player-side features. Overseer allows a Game Master to combine tools together (such as VTTs, soundboards, dice rollers, etc) into a single workspace that streamlines the session experience. Overseer deliberately avoids becoming a VTT or full campaign manager.

Refractor

Play Refractor Update January 14, 2025: Writing puzzles takes a lot of thought and time. Despite efforts to try and write an automatic way to create levels, nothing has worked well. The truth is, creating levels takes time and effort and is becoming a chore for me to do daily. I plan to write more about the process but for now, there will be no more daily puzzles. I do wish to pick up the project in the future.

Security

I use a series of Reolink PoE cameras that I really love. I have a couple of 4K, doorbell, and wide lens cameras that cover the perimeter of my entire property. I have my entire network closet (including the PoE switch) hooked up to a backup battery so that if I lose power, the cameras stay online. Additionally, I have an old laptop I’m using as a home server to upload all the footage these cameras capture.

Home

In 2023, my wife and I purchased our forever home in central New Jersey. We live on 1.1-acres of land with enough space to do all the things we always wanted to do such as learning to grow sustainable food, raising chickens, and other hobbies that root us to nature. We are not true homesteaders. We acknowledge that we are very fortunate to live where we do and get to pursue our hobbies as just that, hobbies.

Microgreens

I’ve recently started a small home microgreen “farm”. It consists of a cheap Amazon Basics wire rack and cheap plastic trays. The soil is run-of-the-mill Home Depot potting mix and the seeds come from True Leaf Market . It’s the middle of summer here in New Jersey right now so I don’t anticipate using a grow light, but I have a spare one from a long while back when I was experimenting with hydroponics.
